Quinn Building Products with the help of further education provider South West College have taken yet another innovative step in the way they demonstrate their large portfolio of High-Performance Insulation Products manufactured by Quinn Therm and Quinn Lite.
By combining cutting edge technology with strategic thinking, Quinn Building Products have created an immersive virtual, physical and digital experience for customers to see for themselves the properties, performance and data of the products within the Quinn Lite and Quinn Therm insulation ranges.
Quinn Building Products’ in-house Technical Experts Team collaborated with South West College’s dynamic and diverse visual technologists and programmers to produce a new and exciting Virtual Reality (VR) home.
Paul Melanophy, Business Change Manager at Quinn Building Products said, “It is no longer enough to simply talk about the performance of our products, customers are demanding a more engaging and highly visual experience, which is why we wanted them to see for themselves exactly how the Quinn Building Products range works together to provide solutions.”
[gdlr_quote align=”center” ]“We are always looking for new ways to demonstrate and communicate the performance of our products with our customers and what better way to do this than to create a virtual environment where they can enter, engage and experience this first-hand. South West College have helped us to achieve this.”[/gdlr_quote]
Quinn Building Products have developed a modern home in its virtual world, where the participant can walk through a room which has key junctions highlighted to demonstrate and exemplify heat loss due to Thermal Bridging. The viewer will learn how optimum Thermal Conductivity is achieved by selecting the right insulation products and construction detail.
Jason Martin, Specification Manager at Quinn Building Products said, “The idea for the virtual home was created out of a need to demonstrate our range of Thermal Insulation Products and Accredited Construction Details in an interactive yet informative way. It’s a pretty cool way to bring to life what can otherwise be a complex set of technical drawings and numbers.”
Stephen Moss, Curriculum Manager for Technology at South West College said, “When Quinn Building Products first approached us to work on the Virtual Reality home we knew it was going to be an exciting project.”
[gdlr_quote align=”center” ]”Quinn Building Products has always embraced new technology and it was the perfect opportunity for our developers at South West College to venture into a new type of virtual environment.”[/gdlr_quote]
“The Virtual Reality house has the style of an architecturally designed home and is perfectly suited to achieving Passive House Thermal Standards – we wanted to use this to showcase digital construction and design using the most innovative technology available.”
Quinn Building Products will be giving its first demonstrations of the new Virtual Reality home at Ecobuild at the ExCel London from Tuesday 8th to Thursday 10th March.
